Description
The KitCADi3.zip archive (same as KitCADi3_setup.zip) allows advanced users or automated scripts to build KitCAD i3 from source files. The intended target platforms of operation can range from Windows to Linux.
A advanced knowlage of programing languages and web software applications is required to configure all installed functions.
Other downloads are required because some parts of KitCAD i3 are currently maintained by 3rd parties, and are NOT included with the KitCAD i3 source build.
Install - without Archive manager;
From the Desktop, Highlight the file titled
KitCADi3.zip and click to open; Or with a
Right click and select
Explore from the pop-up context menu.
On the opened window titled 'KitCADi3.zip' select the
File menu, and start the archive manager by clicking the menu item of '
Extract All'.
The
Extraction Wizard will start with a welcome message, press the
Next button.
Enter the
Destination directory
of
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3\ (same as image shows)
Press the
Next button (and answer Yes to prompts for file replacement).
Start the
KitCAD i3 config process.
Install - with Archive manager;
From the Desktop, Highlight the file titled
KitCADi3.zip and click to open with WinZip (or other archive file manager)
On the opened WinZip window titled 'KitCADi3.zip' select the
Extract icon.
Enter the
Extract to location
of
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3\ (same as image shows)
Select the options of
Use folder names and
Overwrite existing files (same as image shows)
Press the
Extract button.
Start the
KitCAD i3 config process.
This, the linux source build can not be run out-of-the-box. There is no easy way to configure all the files, unless you read all the code. However a webserver script exists that can configure the majority of KitCAD i3 in a few seconds.
Advanced users should use something like the
i3 install script to configure files (not perfect all of the time). If deployed accross multiple domains then other security settings may need to be configured for a
crossdomain.xml
file and
CORS headers.

Standard User Account/s :
The TEST Setup of KitCAD i3 (this) may not show a applicaiton generated File Dialog Window but displays the HTML upload page when opening a kp2 file.
As a trial work-around run the KitCADi3_file_localhost_test_UAC_support.zip Setup.exe program as an Administrator;
And follow the included readme.txt instructions for each User Account that will run KitCAD i3 from the Standard Users roaming profile; See the
KitCAD Standard User Account Support Installer notice for instructions and download link.
2006 NOTE : The TEST Setup of KitCAD i3 (this) overwrites and stops a previous 2006 version of KitCAD 2 titled
KitCAD2v5.exe from downloading the online Demo library system.
As a work-around fix; Install
KitCAD2v5.exe and the
Demo library system first before attempting this Install. Un-Installing this install of KitCAD i3 removes some of the Demo library system.
2010 NOTE : The TEST Setup of KitCAD i3 (this) overwrites the KitCAD 2 re-release 2010 version of the Demo library system.

KitCAD i3 mode 2.27 options.
