Installing KitCAD i3 KGC rX

Please note : NOT all Graphic Cards support X3Dom OpenGL software uses. Before downloading it is suggested that System Administrators perform testing by using the online version combined with the most up-to-date Web Browser to determine functionability.




KitCADi3_KGC_rX_x86_setup.exe

The KitCADi3_KGC_rX_x86_setup.exe (20Meg to 40Meg) allows users to select the installable features.
System Requirements: 150Meg free harddisc space, +Windows XP/VISTA/Windows 7 (RECOMMENDED), and Microsoft Software Installer (MSI)
Previous versions of KitCADi3_KGC_rX_x86_setup.exe from 2014 were named KitCADi3_KGC_rX_KPX_x86_setup.exe

Starting the InstallAware process

Click the Next button

Setup Readme.txt file

Click the Next button

Select Setup type, Typical setup - Compact setup - Custom setup

Select requred Setup type (SUGGESTED : Custom Setup), then Click the Next button

Custom Setup type allows the selecting of installable featurers

Select the required Setup featurers listed below, then Click the Next button.
Icons allow features to be installed or removed, as follows:
To install a feature, Click the red coloured X, to show the following popup menu

Select Will be installed on local hard drive to install a feature.

The symbols of ^ represent setup inclusive of CutUp Machine-It, for KitCAD (HTML/Online), and;
Symbols of * represent setup inclusive of Object Editors, for KitCAD (HTML).

InnoSetup setup for KitCAD i3 KGC rX (installed by default) ^:-
No program code is installed with this feature, reserved for future use.

InnoSetup setup for KitCAD i3 KGC rX, with dcef version 3.0 (installed by default) ^* :-
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX\install\KitCADi3rXv3.exe [Instructions]

InnoSetup setup for KitCAD i3 KGC rX, with dcef version 1.0 (not installed by default) ^:-
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX\install\KitCADi3rXv1.exe [Instructions]
Users on Windows XP/Vista should select to install KitCAD i3 KGC rX, with dcef version 1.0,
as the installed default (version 3.0) may NOT work correctly with Windows XP/Vista operating systems supported hardware.

InnoSetup setup for KitCAD i3 KGC rX for XAMPP (not installed by default) ^:-
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX\install\KitCADi3rX_XAMPP.exe [Instructions]


Confirm settings before installing

Click the Next button

Downloading and Installing from 7zip archives

Click the Next button to begin download followed by unpacking of downloaded 7zip files.
The InstallAware Internet download of 7zip archives from KitchenPages.com has a try again/resume function.
Drop-out's for dialup users may occur due to size of 7zip archives.
A firewall may prompt request user permission before downloading.
This InstallAware setup will try to resume where it stopped downloading, before restarting download again.
The InstallAware 2012 setup uses windows Microsoft Software Installer (MSI) to setup and manage unpacked 7zip archives


The InstallAware setup finish dialog will be displayed

Click the Finish button to exit. Any installed programs that need to be run should be active;
Users may continue and close the InstallAware setup without affecting other setups.



After setup; The InstallAware updater modify, repair, uninstall of setups can be accessed from the Windows Desktop:-
Start button | Programs | Kitchen | KitCADi3rX | Click the required icon

After setup; The InstallAware updater for KitCAD i3 KGC rX updates:-
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\{9DB784EA-2955-46A9-AAFD-AC1AB1E0AF1A}\KitCAD i3 KGC rX KPX.exe" /update

And the InstallAware uninstaller, modify, repair for KitCAD i3 KGC rX updates:-
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\{9DB784EA-2955-46A9-AAFD-AC1AB1E0AF1A}\KitCAD i3 KGC rX KPX.exe

Always answer YES if prompted by InstallAware to overwrite or remove any existing files during downloading/updates/modify/repair/uninstall.

The 7zip archive files downloaded by the InstallAware installer are also catched by default and using the Operating system Web Browser settings; No archive encryption is enabled.
The 7zip archive files may/will be catched at %USERPROFILE%\Temporary Internet Files\ with the 8.3 mime type extension naming of .7zip file extension.
Clearing the default Operating system Web Browser {Internet Explorer} will allow downloading of the latest release [Instructions].

Installing InstallAware Updates or downloading Updated InnoSetup Installers may require the user to manually run each InnoSetup installer, as required (if the InnoSetup Installers do not run automatically).

NOTE : files in the C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX\install\ folder can be deleted, if needed users can repair using InstallAware.
The {win32} folder of 'Program Files' may on select operating systems refer to the {win x86} 'Program Files (x86)' folder.

IMPORTANT : if installing KitCADi3rX_XAMPP.exe then please note that files should be installed in the following order;


KitCADi3rX*.exe

The KitCADi3rXv1.exe (16Meg) and/or KitCADi3rXv3.exe (20Meg, installed by default) setup files install KitCAD i3 KGC rX KPX.
An upgrade to the current version of KitCAD i3 KGC r5/r50 for XAMPP with RPCL 5.0 is included but will not be installed by default.
System Requirements: 100Meg free harddisc space, +Windows XP/VISTA/Windows 7(RECOMMENDED).
If installing KitCADi3rX_XAMPP.exe (2.44Meg, upgrade) - An existing version of XAMPP installed to C:\xampp or a previous install of KitCAD i3 KGC r5/r50 for XAMPP is required [link].
Advanced users or system administrators that download the KitCADi3rX_XAMPP zip or 7z Archives, must extract the archived file into C:\.
Note: These instructioins can be applied for other KitCAD i3 KGC rX KPX Setups and Upgrades.

Starting the InnoSetup process

Click the Next button

License Dialog

Select I accept the agreement, and then Click the Next button

KitCAD i3 KGC rX Destination dialog {may not be displayed}

Enter the Destination folder of C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX

If displayed, then Click the Yes button

Confirm settings before installing

Click the Next button

The above dialog is displayed while the InnoSetup is installing files; No user action is required

The InnoSetup finish dialog will be displayed

Click the Finish button to exit.

After setup; The InnoSetup uninstall of KitCAD i3 KGC rX can be accessed from the Windows Desktop:-
Start button | Programs | Kitchen | KitCAD i3 rX | Click the required icon {v1.0, v3.0, XAMPP} | Click the UnInstall icon.

After setup; The InnoSetup uninstaller for KitCAD i3 KGC rX *:-
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX\uninstall\v1.0\unins000.exe
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX\uninstall\v3.0\unins000.exe
C:\Program Files\Kitchen\KitCADi3rX\uninstall\XAMPP\unins000.exe

* The {win32} folder of 'Program Files' may on select operating systems refer to the {win x86} 'Program Files (x86)' folder.
Un-installing any of these setups will cause errors for other installed KitCAD i3 KGC rX applications, and other related KitCAD i3 software that was installed beforehand.
Re-running installer setups as needed in required order will correct issues, and fix missing file issues caused by un-installing software.

After running installed setups; Running the installed applications:

NOTE :
KitCAD i3 KGC r5/r50 software upgrades currently require the Web Browser client cache be cleared, for the most up-to-date display to be rendered


Windows firewall

The Windows Firewall dialog MAY be displayed

If shown - Select and Enable PRIVATE NETWORKS, deselect PUBLIC NETWORKS, and Click the Allow access button (as image above shows)


Running KitCAD i3 KGC rX

KitCAD i3 KGC rX with Web Browser; RPCL 5.0; (file:///)


Web Browser default security settings may block or disable some or all of KitCAD i3 KGC rX function.

The folder of r5se with file of rX.html may be used from the Desktop to view KitCAD i3 rX within the default Web Browser; Or -

From the Windows Desktop; Start button | Programs | Kitchen | KitCAD i3 rX | Click the KitCAD i3 rX icon.

Allow 60 seconds for the Web interfaces and application to detect operating environment.

The suggested Web Browser for end users is an up-to-date/or better version of Internet Explorer 10 for offline environments.
Information on required Web Browsers and required Firefox security settings (also used with 'KitCAD i3 KGC rX for XAMPP') can be found below.


Running KitCAD i3 KGC rX with dcef

Start button | Programs | Kitchen | KitCAD i3 rX | exe | Click the KitCAD i3 rX icon.

Allow 60 seconds for the Web interfaces and application to detect operating environment.

Note: When saving - a text file will be displayed that contains more then required drawing data; Saving the displayed text file as untitled.kp2 with the 8.3 naming extension of .kp2 will enable online versions the permission to upload the file.

Reloading a saved file using KitCAD i3 rX with modified dcef (v1.0 and v3.0) from desktop, an example - Click image below to enlarge:

Right Click on the file to be opened, A pop-up dialog menu will be displayed.
Select the Send To on the pop-up dialog menu, a pop-up dialog submenu will be displayed for the option of Send To.
Click the KitCAD i3 rX or KitCAD i3 rX v3.0 icons, The file will be opened by the selected application, if permitted.
When not permitted and by default for use with CDR/DVD media; the Splash page Web Form hypertext anchor link of Edit saved drawings allows end-users to re-open saved files.
More Inforamtion Read Only (CDR/DVD) media is enabled by default.

A restart of KitCAD i3 rX with modified dcef (v1.0 and v3.0) is required before any setting changes will be displayed.


Running KitCAD i3 KGC rX for XAMPP

KitCAD i3 KGC rX for XAMPP; RPCL 5.0; (localhost)

Start XAMPP Control Panel, then start Apache Web Server [Instructions]
Start the Google Chrome Web Browser and enter the URL address of Installed by KitCADi3rX_XAMPP.exe (upgrade): Allow 60 seconds for the Web interfaces and application to detect operating environment.

The suggested Web Browser for end users is an up-to-date/or better version of Google Chrome for online/hosted environments.
Other Web Browsers that support WebGL X3DOM are (with or without flash plug-in) : Internet Explorer 10, Opera browser * {see below} and Mozilla Firefox * {see below}


NOTE : To enable WebGL X3DOM support with Firefox Web Browsers {before version 34.0}, users may/will need to make configuration changes by using the URL address of about:config and changing the setting of webgl.force-enabled to be true. Firefox Web Browsers {after version 34.0} may not display 3D rendering when using the file:// protocol scheme.
Use of Opera Software Web Browser may result in the incorrect display of KitCAD i3 KGC rX (online) dialogs, or data not being processed correctly; No errors are reported when using KitCAD i3 KGC r5/r50 versions with the Opera Software Web Browser - Or with use of offline mode or file:// scheme which will resolve display issues. As a work-around ensure that Opera Software Web Browser has Opera Turbo mode set to be 'ON' {and not the 'AUTOMATIC' or 'OFF' settings}. See Opera Turbo instruction for more information - and to disable display of popup help window or Web Browser popup message.


Install - viewer support;

For users that can not view WebGL or X3DOM content, there are Options to use the VRML97 markup language for viewing WRL files instead.
To view the optional VRML97 WRL content for viewing a plug-in or player may be required. Users must select the KitCAD i3 KGC rX Options to create VRML97 files before rendering.
If required, Install Third party software viewers that are required to render content; See 3D/2D viewer help.


language - help support;

More then 33 languages are supported, coding allowing displayed texts in a user selected language is performed using the KitCAD i3 KGC rX help system language function page
Please note that English is the default language, with option only for online users to translate help text {using online web translation services}
